Kyoko Aizome
Thursday, August 31, 2006

Her breakthrough role was in a 1981 film directed by Takechi Tetsuji titled, Hakujitsumu (Daydream), a movie reported to be one of only a small handful of genuine hardcore pornographic feature-films (as opposed to hardcore videos) that were ever produced by Japan. The Asahi Shimbun called it Japan's first hard-core pornographic movie, which might make Aizome to be Japan's first (and possibly only) porn-movie superstar in the same category as Linda Lovelace and Marilyn Chambers. By 1981, porn-videos were already starting to push aside porn-movies to their eventual extinction worldwide.
Since Daydream, Aizome has been active in Japan's much more common and prolific adult video and softcore porn-movies, as well as a 1987 remake of Daydream by the same director. Aizome (with her name mistranslated as "Kyoko Izoma") has probably been most widely seen internationally from co-starring in a pre-scandal (and therefore now-illegal in the U.S.) Traci Lords porn-video shot in Tokyo.
She is reported to be currently a sex-advice columnist for women in Japan, titled "Auntie Agony", while continuing her performing career to this day. The continued endurance of Aizome's acting career after two decades seems absolutely unique in Japan's erotic media.
